YOGA

Island Om Classes vary at different levels and styles of teachers. Just like our Island, our teachers have been taught in different schools, and disciplines of Yoga and Fitness. Our Mission: To bring awareness to yourself, your core, and the subtle energies throughout your body. Yoga is about finding what is right for you, and every time you come to the mat the
experience may be different, but you will always learn something about yourself, and be happy you came.

Vinyasa-based “Flow”

Moving with intention from one Asana (pose) to another. Learn to Connect your Breath with Movement, and Attention to activate all the muscles in your body. Each pose brings a different awareness to where you place your energy within your alignment. Through a series of Hip and Heart Openers, Balancing Poses, and stillness and modality in movement, you will not only help release physical tension, but emotional tension and will inspire compassion and creativity!

Yoga 1/2

You’ve been to some classes, and know what a “Vinyasa” means and how to do a Sun Salutation. You’re ready to dive deeper, giving more attention to proper alignment, and transition thru different Vinyasa sequences.

Yoga 2/3

This is an Open Level Class. You feel comfortable on the mat moving thru dynamic sequences that progress throughout class. You are ready to challenge yourself in your own individual practice (and that can mean different things to different people)! There may be more play and experimentation with inversions and arm balances, if you care to engage. The teacher will offer different variations to allow you to decide what you need for yourself at that time. You are ready to be your own teacher!

IslandOm Foundations

Brand New to Yoga? You’ve only heard or read about it being “good for you’ but you have never given it a try. Come start your Journey with us! This class will be a slower moving class with attention to Breath work, Asana Names (poses) and benefits, alignment, modifications, and using props. All are welcome, regardless of your flexibility or experience. Yoga is about your personal journey and finding what works for you!

Slow Flow

Hatha meets Vinyasa, in Lauren B’s specially designed yoga class. This is an Open Level Class that moves slowly, while focusing on holding the pose for a specific amount of breaths. While it can be gentle as it moves slowly, and modifications are offered, it does challenge those who hold the asana, while diving deeper into their alignment and breath.
