YOGA
Island Om Classes vary at different levels and styles of teachers. Just like our Island, our teachers have been taught in different schools, and disciplines of Yoga.
Learn how to bring awareness to yourself from within, using energetic alignment and the subtle energies (your Chakras) throughout your body. Yoga is about finding what is right for you. Every time you come to the mat the experience may be different, but you will always learn something about yourself, and be happy you came!
Island om Flow
Vinyasa, also known as a Flow, moves with intention from one Asana (pose) to another. Learn to Connect your breath with your movement, paying attention as you activate all the muscles in your body. Each pose brings a different awareness to where you place your energy within your alignment. Class will take you through a series of Hip and Heart Openers, while finding Balance, Stillness and Modality in movement. Build strength and flexibility, while releasing physical and emotional tension you may carry. What happens on the Mat, can translate how you navigate life off the Mat.
OM, 1/2
You’ve been to some classes, and know what a “Vinyasa” means and how to do a Sun Salutation. You’re ready to dive deeper, giving more attention to proper alignment, and transition thru different Vinyasa sequences with an introduction to more advanced poses.
KUNDALINI
Kundalini yoga involves body movement, repetitive poses, chanting, breathwork and meditation. Its purpose is to activate your Kundalini energy, or shakti, to promote physical health, wellbeing and spiritual enlightenment.
According to scientific research, Kundalini Yoga helps fight disease, improves brain function, eases stress and anxiety, and boosts self-perception and self-appreciation.

Island Om Foundations
Brand New to Yoga? You’ve only heard or read about it being “good for you” but you have never given it a try. Come start your Journey with us! This class will be a slower moving class with attention to Breath work, while learning the foundation of each Asana (Pose), their benefits, proper alignment, modifications, and using props. All are welcome, regardless of your flexibility or experience. Yoga is about your personal journey and finding what works for you!
Slow Flow
This open level vinyasa class uses the classical Ashtanga primary series as its foundation. Traditionally Ashtanga is an athletic and dynamic practice, but in the abridged version taught in this class, the flow from asana to asana moves slowly, holding poses and diving deeply into alignment and breath.
Power of OM
Yoga meets Sculpt in a more challenging Flow! Moving from your center (Your Core) find your power and balance. This class focuses on strengthening specific muscle groups using your own weight as resistance throughout the body. This class has increased the intensity to help shred the excess both physically and mentally.
GENTLE FLOW - 70 min
Whether you partied too hard, starting a practice, or you need to rid what no longer serves you - This is a class to help the body and mind release and let go with a much slower pace. This class can also help you learn modifications that aid in where you need to be at that moment. Starting class with a slow moving meditation connect to breath and move into postures using somatic movement and dynamic stretch techniques. The postures are intended to be approached from a calmer state, which helps reduce stress, while keeping the joints healthy and maintaining/building strength. End with a long, juicy savasana and feel renewed and recharged! Sunday Evening class is led by Candlelight.
YIN YOGA - 70 min
Healing your body from the inside out! Yin Yoga is slow-paced style of yoga as exercise, incorporating principles of traditional Chinese medicine, with asanas that are held for longer periods of time than in other styles. Focusing on the breath to dive deeper into yourself, help release the tensions you have been carrying around for day, weeks, months, years.
While “yang” yoga focuses on your muscles, yin yoga targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It's slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Because you're holding poses for a longer period of time than you would in other traditional types of yoga, yin yoga helps you stretch and lengthen those rarely-used tissues while also teaching you how to breathe through discomfort and sit with your thoughts.
A passive practice, Yin Yoga involves variations of seated and supine poses typically held for 3 to 5 minutes, accessing deeper layers of fascia.
All levels welcome!
